Description: Condensate with up to 10% free oil volume and up to 2000 ppm emulsion had to be lowered to 10 ppm oil for sanitary sewer discharge. Because of the volume of free floating oil on the emulsified water, we had to treat the system as two (2) separate waste streams. We did this by using oil sensors to control valves which directed fluid flow. Free oil was directed to a storage tank and emulsified water to the CPS System. The total fluid volume is 130,000 gallons per year. We treat batches of about 5,000 gallons every two (2) weeks. The system was designed for 100 GPM flow rate. The system is fully automatic. Comments: The client was spending large sums of money having the condensate hauled away and treated. The CPS System now treats the condensate to an allowable discharge level. It also gives them oil for recycling to reuse in their air compressors. |
